KHS is proud to announce the opening of their new wing and with it a bigger library.
Mrs. Nancy Poe, KHS librarian, has been here for 28 years and has never had a new library until now.
The library has a new name this year.
It is now refer to as the a Learning Resource Center (LRC), Poe said.
This is because libraries are no longer just a place to house books, LRCs provide students with computers and other forms of technology to help them gather the information they need, Poe said. She also adds, LRC is a more fitting description for a library of the 21st century.
The library is three times the size of the older one, she said.
According to Poe, it has almost 10,000 books and can easily double or triple in amount.
We will also be getting new books this year, so the students will have a
broader selection to choose from, she said.
The LRC is also open to the public on Wednesday until 6 p.m.
This is to allow students extra time outside of class to work on projects, do research, and use our new facility.
The library is open Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
