The Kaufman Lions power-lifting team started out the season with a good

start getting 8th in a tournament at North Mesquite High School.

Individually Travis Wilson ended up in 3rd, Hector Alonzo also in 3rd, and

Brandon Thompson in 5th.

The team is coached by Coach Jason Thomas and they participate in the bench press, squat, and dead lift events.

For those of you who dont know power-lifting is a strength competition to

determined who is the strongest athlete per pound Coach Thomas said. The

following people are on the team Hector Alonzo, Travis Wilson, Brandon

Thompson, Ryan Parker, Beau White, Louis Martinez, Colt Goswick, Ketrick Mumphry, Arturo Escebedo, and Thyson Carr. The guys practice Monday through

Thursday from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.
